Education Foundation Kick-Off
What?
A press conference announcing the September fundraising launch for The
Education Foundation for the Bend-La Pine School District.
Where?
Downtown Bend, on the steps of the Administration Building.
When?
September 8th at 10:00 AM.
Who?
Mike Dugan, District DA and Chairman of The Education Foundation board, will
announce the fundraising launch, describe The Foundation, and answer questions
from the press.
Fellow board members will be on hand to answer any additional questions, handout
balloons, brochures, and bumper stickers.
Band students from Mountain View High School will be performing.
Why?
The Education Foundation seeks to enrich and strengthen our community by
investing in the education of our children. The foundation works with
the school district to support major projects benefiting educational programs
district-wide and will fund requests from teachers and schools who wish to
receive support for specific projects.
The Foundation is governed by a 27-member volunteer board made up of local
individuals who believe that a strong public school system is essential to the
social and economic well-being of a community. By accessing local, region, and
national funds The Foundation:
- Gives teachers the tools
they need to teach effectively.
- Increases educational
opportunities for all students.
- Fosters scholarship and
professional development.
- Encourages creative and
innovative curriculum.
